CAN THE SCALES OF JUSTICE MEASURE A NICKEL BAG?

Prosecutors in Montgomery County, Texas, have filed paperwork to have Adrian Peterson's bail revoked and the Minnesota Vikings running back re-arrested after he told a drug tester that he had recently smoked marijuana before taking a urinalysis test Wednesday.

Now I would agree that “smoking a little weed” before a drug test might not be the smartest behavior, but isn’t revoking Peterson's bail a little extreme?

Isn’t the whole point of bail to keep the individual from being a flight risk?

Ever “smoke a little weed?”

No?

Yeah, right-you didn't inhale....

Ever been around anyone who did?

Do these guys look like they could ever be a flight risk?

Or these guys?

The only flight risk you have with a stoner is if someone forgets to lock the back of the Doritos delivery truck!

So, beating a child wasn't enough to get him locked up, but smoke some chronic and they throw away the key!

Is our justice system screwed up or what?

  1. There is irony. So many states are fighting to legalize weed altogether and then there is this...

    1. A lot of people are up in arms over the Ray Rice spousal abuse but see this (interfering with a parent disciplining his child) as government invasion of privacy.

I would say that of the two, the child has more need of the oversight (he can't defend himself or walk away).

But to react more strongly to the joint than the use of a switch...if it was not sad I'd be laughing.

    1. Kind of a rhetorical question, my friend.

    2. I know... but at least I got it right.

      From 'THE WONDER YEARS' :

Miss White (teacher) : "Now, do we always agree on what values should be?"

      [Kid raises his hand]

Narrator: "That was Joey Santano. He'd always wait for Miss White to ask a really easy rhetorical question..."

      Joey Santano: "Yes."

Narrator: "...and then he'd get it wrong."

    3. Ya know, the only episode of TWY I saw was the last one (about the last ten minutes), where the narrator told what happened to everyone after the show.

During my traveling years I saw very little television.
