RON PAUL ON LIBERTY

I've posted a lot recently about how the second amendment is there to protect the people from the government.

I like how Ron Paul says it.

“Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset.

When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage.

America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government.

Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.”

  1. Nothing to argue against there, that's for sure. Automobile checkpoints and random searches also happen to be entirely un-Constitutional! (See the Fourth Amendment.)

One could further make a case that any mandatory, federally-issued identification card or number transgresses the Tenth Amendment.

In truth, there's almost nothing about our lives now that is in alignment with the Constitution our Founding Fathers crafted for us. Even the words "Constitution" and "Constitutionally" should probably just be abandoned at this point because they have become nearly meaningless.

    3. Not sure why the ELP lyric hit twice.....it was the 'born of mistrust of government' that inspired me...

Sadly, people are all too willing to trust the likes of Obama, Pelosi and Reid...

Are they agents of evil, or just dumb as stumps?

      Either way...

  2. Complacency and a 'don't rock the boat' mindset is the fast track to bondage. The leaders of the US certainly seem evil, while the people qualify as 'dumb as stumps' (BTW, I live that phrase). Won't they be surprised?

    1. Even if they are not as evil as Mr. McCarthy thinks (bringing about end times), they still are bad people-they swore oaths to uphold the Constitution and instead put forth schemes to make themselves richer at the people's expense.

Stephen lent me a video once where the director (blanking on his name, but he'd had credibility in Hollywood) was telling how he'd been invited to join the Council on Foreign Relations, and when he said how he thought what they were doing was wrong, Rockefeller (I forget which one) essentially said, "f#@k the populace-we're better than them."

And because the American people are so willing to be led into bondage, he's right. They are better than we are. We're sheep being led to slaughter.

  3. Aaron Russo being interviewed by Alex Jones, and the reference was to Nick Rockefeller.

Incidentally, that entire interview was available at YouTube the last time I checked.

    1. It was a video worth watching (even with megaphone man)...Russo is compelling.

  4. Interesting that you brought up that interview. I knew Mr. Russo in a round about way, in one of his earlier lives and the establishment he owned where he catered to radicals of an interesting nature. Not surprised that he was invited to become an 'insider', pleasantly shocked that he resisted, but then a lot of people 'saw the light' and it cost many of them their lives or at least livelihoods.

I'll argue that the elite aren't really better, just smarter with greater resources at hand, than the average American. IMO, Better remains in the eyes of the creator. Life (in some form or another) will eventually be fair.

    1. I reread my post and comments to make sure I'd not written something that implied the elite are in some way better.

Except for when I drive (when I am better than everyone!), I agree-it is not for me to judge a person's worth-that's up to the Big Guy.

Quite frankly, when the CFR offers a membership to people like Angelina Jolie, it shows that they are less worried about a true "think tank" and more about being popular and fashionable.

Being born into money is just as much an accident of birth as being born into poverty. Just turn on a television and flick channels, and you will find a reality show playing somewhere all about the Kardashian family.

      These are the elite? Really?

If this is what Americans worship, they need higher standards.

  5. I didn't mean to imply that you said 'the elite were better'; that was a reference to the Nick Rockefeller quote.
