Let me start off by saying that the shootings at the Batman premiere in Colorado are a tragedy, the shooter is an asshole and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.
However, there is a part of this story, incidental to the tragedy, that is really sticking in my craw, and you lucky faithful readers get to experience me hacking my craw clear.
I would like to address the "miracle" of the three month old in the theater who escaped unharmed.
A young couple who'd recently moved from New Mexico and were attending the midnight show with their children, one an infant, and they threw themselves on their children, the mother being hit in the leg by shrapnel.
I may catch some heat for this sentiment, but tt serves her right!
What the hell is an infant doing in a movie theater at midnight?
In fact, unless the movie is animated, with talking fish, what the hell is an infant doing in a theater, period?
While I deplore the current state of movies where every week a new comic book or video game on film is released, do all of the walking dead that constitute the American movie going public have to be sujected to your frigging screaming kid in a theater?
Can you give me a side order of talking on your cell phone with that ignorant behavior?
Sorry, I am not bowled over by the mother's sefless act of protecting her baby.
It is more than offset by the selfish act of having her baby disturb everyone else who paid to go to the same movie because she was too cheap to arrange for a sitter.
In my opinion, she should spend the whole movie sprawled over that child to shut it the hell up and spare the rest of the audience.
SPRING FOR A FRIGGING BABY SITTER YOU STINGY BASTIGES!
The only "miracle" here is that our society allows people that stupid and ignorant to reproduce.
On this blog, I'm going to leave the CD's on the shelf and vent my frustrations with the current state of political affairs. Our country has problems. Our tax burden is worse than our founding fathers fought a revolution over. Our Federal government has grown into a monstrosity that would make Paul Revere start riding again. We're back...in the United States' Socialist Republic!

FAMOUS LAST WORDS?
“The fundamentals
of our economy are strong”
-John McCain,
September 15, 2008.
With those words, John McCain may have given
the 2008
election to Barack Obama on a silver platter.
The Lehman collapse was in progress, and all
of Wall Street
was feeling intense anxiety, the unemployment rate was 6.1
percent , and there were many warning signs of economic
trouble ahead.
The Obama campaign pounded on this, and while I had
predicted they would win even if the Republicans managed to
resurrect Ronald Reagan and install Princess Diana as his
running mate.
I have been predicting for quite a while that Obama was going to win a second term no matter what, but something happened last month that could give the Republicans an opening provided that Americans are smart enough to pull their heads out of their asses and stop watching American Idol reruns long enough to listen.
On June 8, 2012, addressing reporters,
President Obama
said, “The private sector is doing fine.”
However, once again, the man from Kenya is
full of excrement.
Private sector jobs are still down 4.6
million, or 4%, from January 2008, while government jobs are 11.4% above
January 2008 levels.
Do you know who pays for those additional
225,000 government jobs?
Look in the mirror, fellow taxpayers!
Maybe what the illegal alien in the Oval
Office means is that his plan to bankrupt America, reduce our standard of
living and wipe out the middle class so we’ll be receptive to things like world
banks and the United Nations telling us how to govern ourselves, that plan is
doing fine.
After 36 months of Obama-nomics, the public
sector has made up less than half of the jobs lost in the Great Recession.
The national debt has now increased by more than $64,000 per federal taxpayer since Barack Obama was inaugurated president.
Recent generations, in my opinion, have this attitude of “entitlement” rather than the drive to get off their butts and work for what they want.
Obama plays to that crowd by making them resent the wealthy, while behind their backs manipulating the economy into a death spiral with rising deficit spending and smoke-and-mirrors "fixes" like "Cash For Clunkers."
Interestingly enough, later that same day, our Man From Kenya said, “it is absolutely clear that the economy is not doing fine,” and claimed that his initial remark was taken out of context.

KEEP 'EM COMING, MEXICO!
Q: How do you know when Obama is lying to you?
A: It pretty much starts when he says “My fellow Americans.”
In a speech last year
to La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group, Obama said he could not change
immigration laws without Congress.
"Some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own," said our pillar of integrity, "That's now how our system works."
When speaking on this topic, Obama likes to use nice, important sounding words like “comprehensive
immigration reform.”
Do not let him fool you. What Kenya Man means is amnesty.
On June 15, 2012, our illegal alien president did exactly what he'd told La Raza he would not do-he bypassed Congress, and amnesty was announced for any illegal
immigrants who were brought to the United States as young children.
The reason given? "They do
not present a risk to national security or public safety."
I know that the media covered it with lots of filmed images
of young Hispanics getting all weepy-eyed about being able to stay in the Land
Of The Free (and we really do give away a lot for free under the current
Marxist regime).
The joint venture between Janet Napolitano
(who is every bit as ineffective in her current role as she was as Arizona’s
governor) and The Man From Kenya is not a good idea on many levels.
Providing amnesty to illegals sends a message.
The message is this-keep coming, border crossers!
Eventually
we’ll cave and let you stay.
Any parent knows, that when you reward behavior, it
continues.
We just rewarded the behavior of illegal border crossings.
What do you suppose will be the result of that behavioral
reinforcement?
Obama also said of those he was providing a “come out of
hiding free” card to, “they are American in their heart, in their mind, in every
single way but one: on paper.”
How perceptive our President has become, that he can look into
the hearts and minds of people who live in hiding, and refuse to assimilate and
see that they truly wish to be American.
We were already calling “anchor babies” citizens in direct
violation of that silly rag we call the Constituiton based on a cleverly warped
reading of the 14th amendment. This expands that to any child under
age 16 who comes here illegally but manages to avoid being deported for five
years.
If our immigration laws make sense, they should be enforced.
If they do not make sense, let’s change them.
But let’s stop allowing our presidents to continue to usurp their authority.
I wonder why Obama is so hell-bent on giving this group of
individuals a clear path to citizenship in an election year? But let’s stop allowing our presidents to continue to usurp their authority.
Could it be because he creates a new block of voters, who
come from a country that is already Marxist, and so who would not be aware of
the fact that much of what the President has done in his first term is a direct
violation of the United States Constitution?
As much as I would like that to be true, I don’t think Obama
is smart enough to have thought that through.
But consider this.
With this law, he just made the whole issue of the truth
around his birth certificate moot.
Because this law provides amnesty for HIM!
