NEW RULE: GET OVER YOURSELF, BILL MAHER

from Real Time With Bill Maher, April 8, 2011

You have to pay your taxes next week and General Electric doesn't.

That's right. GE, America's largest corporation, employs 975 people just to work on their taxes. Which, it turns out, is a really great way to handle your taxes.

Yeah, GE paid no taxes on $14 billion in profit. Why aren't people mad at THEM?

Well, Bill, maybe because people are smarter than YOU, and smarter than you give them credit for.

You put yourself out as wanting to help the people. Let's consider what happens when GE pays taxes.

The price of GE's products goes up.

You see that's what businesses do-they pass on their costs to the consumer. If they don't these business will not remain in business.

That's what bankruptcy is-when a corporation does not make money. Their stock prices drop, and people's investments dry up, and everyone wants to sue everyone else because they lost money.

That's why businesses pass their costs onto the consumers. There's no evil agenda here, Bill-it's simple friggin' math.

When GE pays taxes, their appliances, consumer electronics and lightbulbs increase in cost.

Do wealthy people like YOU Bill, really give a shit whether the price of their light bulbs goes up?

Will you even notice?

Only if your personal shopper or the household servant you pay to change light bulbs for you happens to mention it to you when you're not stoned!

But will the single mother making $30 grand a year notice? Yes she undoubtedly will!

The very people you claim to stand for are financially crippled by increases in corporate tax rates while the wealthy (that's YOU, Bill) laugh all the way to their pot dealers.

So rather than doing all your corporate America rabble rousing, how about this as a solution?

Corporations pay NO TAXES!

I'm not the first person to say it to you, either. Mark Cuban said the same thing on your show. You knew he was right then and you know that I'm right now.

I know you're smart enough to know that this truly WOULD have a trickle down effect on the economy. So why don't you want to push this? Could it be because you're afraid you might lose ratings if you don't spew the idiotic rhetoric that your show is known for?

Democrat good.

Republican bad.

That is as deep as your thought goes. You'ree too friggin' blind to see that there is really no difference at all between the two parties, or you're in on the scam.

Either way, I cancelled my HBO subscription two years ago because yours was the only program I watched and I got tired of your pseudointellectual patronizing liberal bullshit. I'm just as tired of pseudointellectual patronizing conservative bullshit.

So I turned off the TV and  now read books.

  1. Right on, DISCCONNECTED!
The dirty little secret is that Bill Maher and all the others like him (“progressives”, “liberals”, “Democrats”, “Dumb-O-Crats”, or whatever one chooses to call them or whatever they choose to call themselves) are essentially aligned with Marxism.

Make no mistake about it, Marxism did not go away like a bad nightmare when Senator McCarthy was finally silenced. Marxism is doing just fine today – in fact, it only went underground by adopting different names to cloak itself and to deceive the Americonned People – who were only too happy to BE deceived!

And one of those names that Marxism adopted is “Bill Maher”.
