Actually, Bro, I think he "pulled it off on Born To Run" because I was young and not able to see through the Wall Of Sound that seemed to be celebrating the sort of life I was living then. <br /><br />Not saying there weren't some really good songs on the album - because there WERE! But it's funny that my favorite song from 'BTR' back then, was also my all-time #1 favorite Springsteen song period: 'Jungleland'.<br /><br />But now I view 'Jungleland' as 'New York City Serenade, Part II', and I like the original ('New York City Serenade, Part I') better.<br /><br />I've come to realize that Bruce is simply a "musical actor" and he has played the part of the 'Middle-Class Working American Stiff' well.
